Melt Away the Day: A Review of KraveBeauty’s Makeup Re-Wined

Okay, ladies, we all know the struggle of finding a makeup remover that’s gentle but gets the job done, right? Well, say hello to Makeup Re-Wined from KraveBeauty! I was on the hunt for an oil cleanser that wouldn’t strip my skin, and this gem caught my eye—especially because it’s fragrance-free, EO free and uses upcycled grapeseed oil.

When I first used it, I was skeptical about the texture. As you know, oils tend to create a giant mess and balms can be a handful. So how well could this transformative jelly oil be at emulsifying and erasing the day’s events away? To my surprise, pretty well! It starts as this luxurious jelly-like texture, melts into an oil, and then transforms into a creamy milk when mixed with water. It felt like a mini spa moment every time I used it, without the mess. Not only did it melt away my full face of makeup, but it also left my skin feeling super soft and hydrated—not tight or dry like other cleansers tend to do.

And the scent? It’s subtle and fresh, like a little bit of indulgence without overwhelming your senses.

What really sold me, though, was knowing that it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainable. The fact that they use upcycled grapeseed oil means I’m not just treating my skin but also being kind to the planet.

Why It Works for My Skin

Now, for my fellow sensitive skin sisters, let me tell you—this oil cleanser is a dream. My skin is naturally dry, sensitive, and prone to breakouts (the trifecta, I know). More often than not, any new product will make my rosacea flare up and turn it bright red. But since this product is very gentle, I didn’t experience any irritation or dryness.

Since stepping away from makeup wipes, which are known to over-exfoliate your skin and spread bacteria, I turned to the world of oil and balm cleansers. Sadly, I noticed my skin would easily be irritated by ingredients like ethylhexyl palmitate and some carrier oils that are found in various viral cleansing balms and oil cleansers. These ingredients would cause my skin to become inflamed, red, and itchy.

An oil cleanser with limited ingredients that cuts right to the chase seemed too good to be true, but with Makeup Re-wined, I think I found a winner. It doesn’t contain any of the previously irritating ingredients and also didn’t run down my arms (IYKYK). Still, scarred by the previous oils and balms I had tried, I said a little prayer that I wouldn’t wake up to new-forming pimples on my face in the morning. But after about 3 months of consistent use, that concern was not even in question!

The nourishing oils like grapeseed and sunflower seed helped to keep my skin hydrated, while the vitamin E gave me that extra boost of moisture without clogging my pores. SCORE!

A Little About KraveBeauty

KraveBeauty was founded by beauty influencer and Youtuber Liah Yoo, with a mission to simplify skincare and give our skin exactly what it craves—nothing more, nothing less. By taking lots of key processes and philosophies from the K-Beauty world, Liah was able to create skin products that hit reset on the overwhelming trends out there, and get back to the basics. What I love about Krave is that they’re not into the over-complicated, 10-step routines that can often stress our skin out. Instead, they focus on skin barrier-friendly products, so you can get your skin back to its healthiest state.

Their eco-conscious approach (think sustainable packaging and upcycled ingredients) is a total bonus, making you feel good about every purchase. Most of their products are fully or partially recyclable making it even easier for new products to rise from the ashes of the previous ones!

How to Double-Cleanse with Krave Beauty

If you’re a fan of double-cleansing (and honestly, who isn’t these days?), Krave Beauty’s Double Cleanse Duo is your new skincare power couple. Here’s how I use it:

  1. Step 1: Makeup Re-Wined – Start with this baby to break down all that makeup, sunscreen, and grime from the day. It glides on like a jelly, and when you rinse, it transforms into a milk, leaving your skin clean without stripping it dry. Start with dry skin, massage the product into your skin, emulsify with water, then rinse.
  1. Step 2: Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser – Follow up with this gentle, hydrating cleanser to make sure every last bit of dirt and oil is gone. With antioxidant-rich matcha and skin-soothing hemp, it nourishes your skin while keeping it balanced and calm.

This duo works wonders, especially for sensitive skin, because it leaves your face squeaky clean without feeling tight or over-stripped. Plus, it’s packed with antioxidants and calming ingredients—so your skin feels refreshed, not irritated.

TIP: Whenever trying a new product, make sure to spot test and watch out for any signs of irritation, including redness, flakiness, itchiness. Remember that not all skin is created equal – so listen to your skin and body!

The Final Verdict

If you want a makeup remover that’s gentle, effective, and guilt-free, KraveBeauty’s Makeup Re-Wined is a must-try! Time to ‘wined’ down and make cleansing your favorite part of your skincare routine. Trust me, your skin will thank you.
