Many people like to change their fragrances with the seasons. And I’m one of those individuals! Switching up your fragrance as the seasons change allows you to step outside your comfort zone and try a new scent. It also gives you the perfect excuse to build your fragrance wardrobe and find your signature scent.
Spring is one of my favorite seasons because it encourages me to replace my go-to perfumes with something light, airy, and fresh. I love to replace my heavier winter scents with fragrances that beautifully complement the natural aromas of blooming flowers, warm sunshine, and outdoor adventures.
During this time of the year, I’m looking for scents that make me feel energized and optimistic. I’m constantly hunting for floral, fruity, and fresh fragrances for the spring.
Finding the right fragrance for you
Fragrance is unquestionably a statement piece, whether you want to complement your personality or style. When searching for the perfect scent, it’s essential to consider your lifestyle and olfactory preferences.
I spoke to the Product and Fragrance Development Team at Bath & Body Works, who provided the following advice to choose the perfect fragrance:
- Take time to explore different fragrance categories.
- Use blotter cards to smell before applying them on your skin.
- Experience and wear the scent to identify if it’s the right fit for you.
- Continue to build your personal fragrance portfolio for each possible occasion.

With spring bringing the return of blooming flowers, it’s only fitting that floral fragrances are a favorite. Rose, gardenia, jasmine, and tuberose provide the nostalgia we need during the season.
Lancôme’s Idôle Eau De Parfum Nectar is a flanker of the original Idôle Eau De Parfum. This new version of the original scent features top notes of rose soufflé, heart notes of caramel and popcorn accords, and a decadent base note of vanilla. The notes blend perfectly to create a light powdery scent with just the right amount of floral and gourmand.
Ellis Brooklyn worked with perfumer Frank Voelkl to capture the joyfulness and beauty of fresh blooms. The bright fragrance has notes of Italian bergamot, golden gardenia, honeysuckle, and jasmine to create an aromatic arrangement. If you adore the smell of your local flower shop, you’ll love this perfume.
If you’re looking for a sweet on-the-go perfume, consider Noteworthy’s n,290. The scent is the ideal balance of fruity and floral, thanks to sweet notes of mandarin orange, peony, and vanilla. The scent combines floral with vanilla richness, much like the description suggests. I personally consider it an everyday scent that’s fun and versatile.
Coach Floral is sweet and feminine. The fragrance combines fruity and floral notes with crystal musks. The top note of pineapple sorbet, middle note of tea rose, and base notes of creamy woods helped the fragrance secure a prominent place on my beauty counter this spring.
Fruity fragrances are popular in the spring because they get you in the mood to travel with scents that transport you to tropical destinations.
Allow your fragrance exploration to take you abroad. If you love adventure, try Valentino’s Born in Roma Coral Fantasy. It encapsulates the scent of Rome’s coral sunset with a delightful blend of bright and feminine notes. The smell is fruitfully twisted by a juicy orange accord, heightened by rose fragrance, and infused with jasmine for a scent just as romantic as it sounds.
With warmer weather comes the return of outdoor brunch. If you desire the bright smells of mimosa on a sunny day, you’ll love Phlur’s Tangerine Boy. This fragrance has a refreshing scent with notes of lemon, apple, tangerine, jasmine, and amber. It’s a great way to add a touch of citrusy freshness to your brunch ensemble.
MOD Blush from Ariana Grande Fragrances is flirty and effervescent. The scent opens with notes of bergamot and passion fruit for an enticing allure. The fragrance’s heart is a dewy rose, magnolia, and a touch of pear. The base notes of sandalwood and musk add warmth and depth to the sweet scent. In my opinion, it’s fresh, fruity, and floral all at once!
Unlock a bit of happiness when you spritz Among The Clouds from Bath & Body Works. Imagine floating on cloud nine with this sweet scent that features notes of wild berries, whipped cream, and vanilla. If you’re looking for an olfactive pick-me-up, this new scent needs to be on your radar.
Spring is a refreshing time of year. To help to embody the season, many people search for light fragrances that smell like clean laundry and fresh air.
It’s fun. It’s fruity. And it’s fresh! I highly suggest trying Skylar’s Peach Fields if you’re looking for a scent that embodies the happy vibes that go hand-in-hand with springtime. The playful and flirty scent features a delicious blend of white peach notes and sandalwood, creating a breezy fragrance perfect for transitioning into warmer seasons.
Spring is the time to get outside and enjoy nature. Ralph Lauren’s Polo Earth celebrates nature’s beauty and joy with fresh notes of bergamot, mandarin, and lavender twisted with the herbal richness of sage and vetiver. The unisex fragrance is amongst my faves for a busy day outdoors.
Lavanila creates fragrances that work with your body’s chemistry to provide a unique scent for each wearer. I love the brand’s Pure Vanilla, which I describe as fresh and alluring. The long-lasting signature fragrance is hand-crafted by master natural perfumers with a blend of pure Madagascar vanilla, creamy tonka bean, and soft heliotrope. It’s worth noting the formula is gentle on sensitive skin and free of harsh chemicals.
Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Isle is a fresh scent that reminds you of a luxurious beach day. The formula combines sweet peony, creamy coconut, and ocean air to create an instantly refreshing fragrance. It’s the perfect transition scent from spring to summer.
Getting the most out of your fragrances
If you’re anything like me, fragrance is integral to your daily beauty routine. That’s why it’s important to take your time to find a scent that embodies your persona.
To get the most out of your new fragrance, I suggest finding body products — including your body wash and body lotion — that complement the fragrance you plan to wear for the day. After a shower, moisturize your skin before layering your perfume on your pulse points to achieve a long-lasting sillage. You’ll thank me later!
